Kristen Stewart apologises
Kristen Stewart has apologised for comparing being photographed by paparazzi to rape for the second time just before Twilight’s LA premiere last night. ‘I used the wrong word. I should have said “violated”,’ said the star hours before appearing at the LA film premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. ‘I probably shouldn’t say this but I just feel like people got so excited once they saw that it was me. It was like, “Sweet! Lets get her”,’ she added.
‘I made one movie directly concerning (rape) and I made another one where my character has a horrible history of rape. I talked to a lot of people about it,’ she told Entertainment Weekly.
Stewart’s apology came after inflammatory comments appeared in the British edition of Elle magazine earlier this month.
Her rumoured boyfriend and co-star Robert Pattinson, 24, defended the 20-year-old by branding her critics ‘little nerds’.
‘It’s almost entirely about hate,’ he said. The third Twilight film premieres in London next Thursday but Stewart, R-Patz and Taylor Lautner have said they won’t be appearing.
