Top Five Singles
…Winner of the BBC Sound of 2011 poll, Jessie J moved up three places to number two with her debut single Do It Like A Dude. Rihanna’s former number one What’s My Name dropped to number three, while Katy B remained a non-mover at number four with Lights Out featuring Ms Dynamite. X-Factor winner Matt Cardle dropped three places to five with When We Collide.

New Single Entries This Week
Biggest X Factor loosers JLS have teamed up with rising rap sensation Tinie Tempah for their new single Eyes Wide Shut, which entered the chart at 10. The Glee Cast cover of Lady GaGa’s hit Telephone came in at 25, while hip hop dream-team Kanye West & Jay-Z saw their single H.A.M. enter at 30. The Glee cast scored a second new entry this week with Jay-Z cover Empire State Of Mind and finally, Tinchy Stryder crept into the top 40 with his new single Let It Rain featuring Melanie Fiona, which entered at 38.

I Like Music Top Three Singles
Professor Green continues to retain his chart presence with his latest single, Jungle, which features Maverick Sabre, an artist we’re tipping for big things in 2011. Adele’s return continues apace, her latest single Make You Feel My Love jumping back up 20 places to seven, presumably in anticipation of the upcoming release of her new single Rolling In The Deep, studio footage of which you can watch here. Rihanna Retains Number One
Rihanna sits pretty atop the UK album chart for the third consecutive week, ensuring that her fifth album, Loud, remains the only number one album of 2011 so far.

Top Five Albums
Plan B’s soul reinvention The Defamation Of Strickland Banks continues to be popular, maintaining the number two spot in its fortieth week in the chart. Cee Lo Green climbed one position to number three with his album The Lady Killer, Rumer moved up three to four with her debut album Seasons Of My Soul, and Mumford & Sons remain steadfast at number five with their huge-selling debut album Sigh No More.

New Album Entries
Winner of Sky1′s Must Be The Music, and now signed to Gary Barlow’s record label, Emma’s Imagination entered the chart at 14 with her debut album Stand Still. Irish star Imelda May came in at 20 with her new album Mayhem, while indie stalwarts British Sea Power entered at 22 with their fifth album, Valhalla Dancehall.

The final new entry this week was Somewhere Over The Rainbow at 28, posthumously released on behalf of the Ukulele playing, Hawaiian musician Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, who became famous for his medley of Somewhere Over The Rainbow and What A Wonderful World. allmusic
